The spaces which compose traditional interior and exteriors have evolved over time.  Yet the characteristic essence of these spaces tends to persist and is highly specific.  Such spaces, known as typologies, constitute cultural knowledge embedded deeply into culture and subsequently into building practice.  We draw inspiration from the colonial spaces of San Miguel by studying such specific details as room proportions, window treatments and floor patterns.
