San Miguel and its surrounding countryside carry the traces of human inhabitation dating back hundreds of years. Careful study of a site’s history and physical attributes can often reveal clues essential to a unique, well-resolved, meaningful design.  If they are internalized into the design process, the resulting architecture may resonate with existing conditions such as archeological features, vegetation, topography, microclimate or solar orientation.
