AGC NM 2024 Best building award

We are excited to announce that the UNM Olympic Training Center, also known as the UNM Champions Training Center or the New Mexico Mutual Champions Training Center, has won the 2024 AGC NM Best Buildings Award for $2.5 million - $5 million.

“Designed to inspire UNM student-athletes, the facility serves as a space for training, maintaining physical health, and achieving competitive excellence. On game days, the Lobos can be seen entering the playing field via a ceremonial pathway integrated into the Champions Training Center. The facility was developed in partnership with McCLAIN + YU Architecture and Design and AGC General Contractor Franken Construction Company, who nominated the facility for the award.”

Architizer values and honors “Architecture touches everyone at multiple scales. At the largest scale, The Plus Awards celebrate how architecture is capable of responding to global issues, shifts in technology and our evolving society — these are the Concept Categories. At the smallest scale, architecture is tactile; nearly everyone in the world touches architecture every day. The A+Awards celebrates the extraordinary work of the world's best firms, highlighting the work of pioneering architects and designers as they strive to create architecture that will stand the test of time — for this decade and the next.” -Architizer
